Welcome to the Island Hockey 101 website, the Island's BEST adult, co-ed, beginner and intermediate hockey league. Winter season registration opens May 15th of every year. We host 6 tiers of hockey, tiers 2 – 7, with tier 7 as a safe haven for the "brand new to ice hockey" player. We welcome players of all calibre, but specifically exist to provide hockey for the beginner. We promise the most customized experience you can have for hockey with things like our ALL STAR BREAK GAMES during Christmas and prizes for Tier Champions at the end of the season.
If this is your first time checking out this site, please look around and fire any questions you have to Chris, Eric, or Adam.

Spring League Registration opens on FEBRUARY 15TH, 2012. We will be hosting 24 teams. I currently have interest from 14 teams. Registrations will not be accepted until February 15th.
We are only accepting registrations from teams/players in what would be equivalent to our regular season Tiers 3 - 7. Spring League will have 4 tiers of skill, tier 4, tier 5, tier 6, and tier 7 (true beginners). Existing winter teams have priority over new team registrations.
Any player with more than 30 penalty minutes OR averaging more than 3 points per game in the regular season must apply through a commissioner to play in Spring League.
There are no pre-season games, 14 regular season games with a double elimination playoff guarantee (16 total game minimum). All games have 1 official. Games will start on March 20 and 21 with the season ending mid to end of June.

We’re planning a fundraising evening on Wed Feb 29. Tickets are all $12 for the game (the usual price for a child) but the Royals will be donating $2 from every ticket sold through us to Kidsport – a non profit organization that provides opportunities for kids that otherwise couldn’t afford to play sports. In addition to the money raised through ticket sales, Island Hockey 101 will match the Royal...s donation dollar for dollar.
We're hoping to generate some team spirit by encouraging your team to wear your team jerseys to the game. There will be incentive prizes given to the team with the most tickets sold as well as a number of draw prizes that will be donated by the league. Those that pay for their tickets using our promo code (www.selectyourtickets.com/promo with the code IH101) will be tracked by the Royals and used for the donation amount.
Tickets will be available until 4pm on game day. For more information, please email me or Duncan Gardiner at Duncan.gardiner@victoriaroyals.com.

No games are postponed by weather unless the arena is closed and we have given your teams notice (both by email, message board, and notice on the front page here).
If in doubt, please call the arena that you are playing at (before their reception closes at a recreation centre) to double-check the status of their facilities.
Please check back frequently as we'll do our best to update you on status of games.
