HOW TO REGISTER
Registration is simple. Fill out the appropriate forms below and enclose a cheque or money
order made out to Island Hockey 101 Ltd.

WHAT YOU GET IN THE WINTER SEASON
- Winter Season starts September and ends March/April.
- Team/Players will play 25+ games (inc. pre-season and playoffs).
- 6 Tiers Regular Season with mid season re-tiering (if required).
- Double knock-out playoffs.
- Approximately 1 game every week.
- Qualified Refs at each game and scoresheets.
All-star games and all-rookie all-star games.- Updated online stats every week for players and teams including cumulative stats for previous 101 players.
- Discounts from our selected sponsors.
- Games scheduled every night of the week with start times around 10pm.
WHAT YOU GET IN THE SPRING SEASON
- Spring Season starts March and ends June.
- Team/Players will play 16+ games (14 regular season and 2+ playoff).
- 2 Tier Regular Season.
- Double knock-out playoffs.
- Approximately 3 games every 2 weeks.
- All games at Pearkes Recreation Centre.
- Qualified Refs at each game and scoresheets.
- Updated online stats every week for players and teams including cumulative stats for previous 101 players.
- Discounts from our selected sponsors.
- Games scheduled every night of the week with start times as early as 6pm on weekends and 8:30pm weeknights.

TEAM REGISTRATION FAQ
- Teams returning from the previous winter season played have priority for registration if their team deposit is received prior to May 15th
- A returning team is defined by 70% or more players returning from the previous winter season.
- Any team that splits is only given 1 returning team spot. The smaller portion of players creating a new team will be put on the new team waitlist in the order received.
- The league reserves 2-3 team spots for individual registrations, usually in the lowest tier and those teams have priority for team spots over new teams.
- New teams are received on a first come, first serve basis. If the league is full, all new teams are put on a waiting list in order received.
- Each team is allowed a maximum 20 players including goalies on the roster. Additional names may be added for $25/player.

INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION FAQ
- All fees MUST be received before the first scheduled game in order to secure a spot in our league. We register on a first come first serve basis.
- Jerseys on individual teams are assigned by the league unless the team arranges otherwise. Jerseys are lent to teams for a $30 deposit/player, $20 refunded at the end of the season if the jersey is clean and undamaged.
- The league will assist with assigning a team captain and liaison for the season at the first game. Pucks will also be assigned at the first game.
- All singles will be placed on a singles team or join with an existing team. If you are registering as a group (ie friends that want to play together that don't have enough players to form a team), please indicate your group on the registration form. All group registrations should be submitted together.

HOCKEY 12 MONTHS OF THE YEAR!
- Winter season - September - April (approx. 60 teams). Registration opens May 15.
- Spring season - April - June (16 teams). Registration opens Febraury 15.
- Beginner Summer Clinics - Session 1 July & Session 2 August. Registration opens April 15.

OTHER FAQS
- Do you carry league sub lists for goalies and players? No, each team manages their own subs and places those subs on their roster.
- Why is there no tier 1? Tier 1 was a high caliber of hockey that didn't have as much interest as the other tiers. With a decreased interest for teams to play in Tier 1, we made that space available for new teams after the 2011 winter season ended. If we renamed all of the tiers, teams of a Tier 1 calibre registering in future seasons would be playing Tier 2 teams who have be renamed Tier 1 re-creating the problem of not enough teams of a Tier 1 calibre.
- I've seen other leagues offer an increased team registration fee to be guaranteed earlier ice times. Do you offer that? No, we like to spread early ice slots throughout the teams in the league. There has been no stated interest by the existing teams.
- Why not offer scorekeepers with every game? Scorekeepers increase the costs for each team. Many teams prefer not to pay for that service and manage finding scorekeepers for their away games.
- I just moved here and I'd like to join but the season has started. How do I do that? Unfortunately, once the season begins the only way to join (by-passing our wait list) is to connect with an existing team captain and squeeze on to their roster. You may post your name, age, contact info, position played and experience in our message forum. Otherwise you'll have to wait until next season.
